Job description

Northwood Technical College is accepting applications from qualified candidates for a part-time/on-call Conference & Event Center Call Staff. 

Conference & Event Call Staff provide on-call support to ensure a welcoming and professional experience for conference center clients. This role focuses on hospitality, customer service, and event support while assisting with Talent & Culture (formerly Human Resources) projects as needed. 

This position may require scheduling at our Shell Lake Health Education Center on occasion.

  • Staff the conference center front desk when assigned.
  • Set up, staff the coffee bar service, and clean up post event.
  • Provide excellent customer service to conference center clients and guests.
  • Work with IT and Facilities to troubleshoot issues during events.
  • Assist with miscellaneous Talent & Culture (formerly Human Resources) projects.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Degree & Experience Required:

  • High School Diploma
  • One year related work experience 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to communicate effectively both written and verbally
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office suite and the ability to effectively apply technology to tasks and projects
  • Ability to contribute to a team environment while maintaining positivity and professionalism
  • Strong customer service skills that focus on creative problem solving
  • Time management skills that apply organization and prioritization demonstrating the ability to multitask and work independently
  • Ability to obtain driver’s license and insurance coverage in accordance with College policy

Preferred:

  • Customer service or hospitality support
  • Refreshment service
  • Basic safety and sanitation practices
  • Experience in a college, conference, or event center setting

FY27 Salary - Call Staff - Grade G - $19.68 / hour
