Job description

We have an exciting opportunity for a Tasting Room Manager to join the MacRostie Winery hospitality team! Reporting to the Director of Hospitality and Events, this role is responsible for leading a customer-focused tasting room (TR) team that aligns with the MacRostie brand plan, achieves sales and wine club targets and maintains a world-class hospitality experience. This position manages onsite events including consumer, corporate and wine club as well as focuses on people management that includes the Assistant Tasting Room Manager and all full and part time TR staff. As this role is based in Healdsburg, CA, applicants must also reside within the area to be considered. This a salaried, exempt position, working consistent weekends and occasional evenings to support event programming. The incumbent qualifies for our outstanding health care benefits, PTO, 401k plan, wine allowance and more!
Minimum Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of hospitality or wine industry experience
  • Must be within local vicinity of the winery to be considered
  • Prior management experience in a tasting room or hospitality industry team required
  • Event management experience required
  • Post High school graduate or equivalency required. College degree or equivalent preferred, but not mandatory.
  • Knowledge of and deep passion for wine and the wine
    industry
  • Understanding of world class service and hospitality
    standards
  • Knowledge of wine service Point of Sale (Commerce7
    preferred)
  • Robust understanding of inventory management across channels
  • Best in class hospitality and customer relationship
    management
  • Strong verbal and written communication, and presentation skills
  • Ability to multi-task and delegate
  • Proficient in Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Mastery of all order management, payroll and CRM systems
  • Strong skills in using web-based platforms and social media

Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
WORKPLACE (internal stakeholders): 70%
Direct Management of all TR operations:
-Continuously look for ways to improve processes
-Identify and resolve operational issues to ensure a seamless experience for guests, members, and trade
• Delivers exceptional customer service to all guests to drive sales,
wine club sign-ups and repeat visits & leads the team to do the same
• Leads the TR team, including management of recruitment,
paperwork, training, development, coaching, scheduling & payroll
• Supervises all daily TR operating processes and procedures
including opening/closing protocol, POS systems, cash
management, replenishment of collateral, merchandise & supplies
• Manage all onsite events during business hours and after hours
including: planning, budgeting, contracts, logistics, staffing, rentals,
vendors and execution + offsite wine club event management
• Works closely with Outreach Coordinator to execute Affiliate
Partner program with key local partners including strategy, budget,
scheduling, reporting
Inventory Management:
-Oversee tasting room inventory replenishment, inventory
counts, and inventory tracking.
-Ensure the team follows inventory procedures and
maintains accurate inventory records.
-Partner with Club Operations and Supply Chain to resolve inventory discrepancies
MARKETPLACE (external stakeholders): 20%
  • Role model exemplary hospitality and customer service to all
    external constituents
  • Provide event planning support to clients including walkthroughs,
    securing contracts, vendor management, post event follow-up

PEOPLE & CULTURE: 10%
  • Actively participate in the DV People Processes and ensure 100% completion within agreed time frames
  • Approve and manage payroll
  • Understand and add value to our achievement-based culture
