uOttawa English Experience Program
An integrated four-skills (listening, reading, speaking, writing) course utilizing a task-based teaching approach; emphasis is on the acquisition of language skills and intercultural competence to complete communicative real-world tasks; grammar and vocabulary in use, socio-pragmatic skills, IT resources, and learning strategies are highlighted; approach is student-centered and interactive; emphasis is on formative evaluation.
Program Dates: Aug. 4 - 21, 2026
Schedule: Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, from 8:30 AM - 11:30 AM.

Master's degree in second language teaching, TESL or related discipline. Two years of experience teaching ESL at the college/university level. Previous experience teaching this course or an equivalent ESL course. Experience with team-teaching. TESL Certification or equivalent.
