The YMCA of Greater Erie is looking to hire Part-time Bus Driver for our childcare programs at our Eastside YMCA location. Are you patient, dependable, and enjoy children? Do you know how to drive a school bus and have a basic knowledge of Erie City and Erie County streets? Do you want to have your weekends free? If so, please read on!This position pays up to $18.00 - $22.00/hour depending on experience. A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A PART-TIME BUS DRIVERAs a Part-time Bus Drive at our Erie Area locations, you transport school bus passengers between assigned stops and schools according to specified routes. Always alert, you provide safe transportation when loading and unloading passengers. You are careful to act as a role model for the children at all times!You are friendly and patient as you instruct passengers in rider safety, you always wear your safety belt assembly while driving and you maintain appropriate passenger management. As a key part of our childcare programming, parents feel good about leaving their children in your capable hands.You are conscientious about keeping route schedules, pre-trip and post-trip safety inspections, checking fluid levels and fueling tank in a safe manner. All DOT mandated records up to date and accurate and you ensure compliance with your PA CDL S endorsement license and YMCA standards and government regulations. QUALIFICATIONS FOR A BUS DRIVERAt least 21 years of ageHigh school diploma or equivalentPossess and maintain a valid Pennsylvania CDL license with current S endorsementAbility to pass a the DOT mandated physical examination, annuallyMust have a safe driving recordMust pass criminal and child abuse clearancesBe drug and alcohol free when driving, and not consume any alcoholic beverages within 8 hours prior to operating a school busAbility to pass a pre-employment drug screeningAre you a people person who especially enjoys staying on a schedule?
