Job Summary:

Ag Express Electronics is seeking a skilled, part-time Electronics Repair Technician I at our Des Moines, Iowa location. This role is responsible for diagnosing and repairing a wide range of electronic and electro-mechanical equipment to reduce equipment downtime and ensure reliable performance. This role combines technical expertise, effective communication, and strong documentation practices to deliver high-quality service to deliver customer satisfaction. This position is located at our Des Moines, Iowa location.

Key Responsibilities:

Repair and Maintenance:

  • Repair electronics and electro-mechanical equipment such as servos, flow meters, grain analysis equipment, implement monitoring and control equipment, and vehicle instrumentation.
  • Follow standard procedures to replace defective components, wiring, and adjust mechanical parts using hand tools and a soldering iron.
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure the long-term functionality of equipment.
  • Manage workload to ensure timely repairs and adherence to deadlines.

Diagnostics and Testing:

  • Evaluate faulty electronic units and systems using diagnostic software and tools to identify root causes of failures efficiently.
  • Test the functional operation of electronic components using oscilloscopes, signal generators, amp meters, and voltmeters.
  • Set up, calibrate, and adjust equipment to meet quality standards and specifications.
  • Interpret electrical schematics to aid in diagnosing the equipment and the repairs required.
  • Demonstrate problem-solving skills by effectively identifying issues and implementing practical solutions to overcome challenges in a timely manner.

Documentation:

  • Maintain detailed records of all repairs, calibrations, and tests performed using computer systems to ensure accuracy and up-to-date documentation.
  • Track and report on the status of repair jobs and parts used.
  • Maintain a high level of attention to detail to ensure accuracy and efficiency of repairs.
  • Ensure compliance with industry and company standards in all record-keeping practices.

Customer Support:

  • Collaborate with customers to provide support for the equipment they need serviced to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Communicate effectively and respectfully with customers to understand their needs, manage inquiries, and provide timely solutions.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Participate in ongoing training and development programs to enhance technical skills.
