Job description

Our associates are expert quality assurance professionals with broad experience and local knowledge who can represent our clients on-demand and on-site faster than our competitors.
You will be supporting SQA's national inspection team in the field by performing quality inspection for Cable and Harnesses. You will be a quality representative for our client on behalf of SQA to support quality improvements.
SQA Services is seeking an Electronic Source Inspector to perform on-site inspections at supplier facilities throughout Orange County, Los Angeles County, San Diego County, and potentially Ventura County. This is a part-time contract role (typically 1-3 days per week) with the flexibility to accept inspection assignments based on your availability.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform first-article, in-process, and final inspections at one or more client suppliers in the area.
  • Ensure products meet quality and specification standards
  • Verify safety wire orientation, correct turns, and pigtails as per specifications
  • Confirm shipping documentation is legible and accurate (part number, serial number, etc.)
  • Check documentation packages to industry standards and classify defects
  • Interpret manufacturing drawings and identify non-conformances
  • Periodically verify accuracy and ensure productivity to meet production schedules
  • Maintain equipment and keep the work area organized

Required Qualifications:
  • Minimum 3 years of experience as a Cable and Harness Inspector/Assembler in electronic manufacturing or related fields with knowledge of cable and harness assembly methods
  • Diploma or GED from an accredited high school or technical school
  • Knowledge of electronic contract manufacturing and LEAN manufacturing a plus
  • Ability to read schematics, assembly drawings, and identify wiring components
  • Proficient in documenting Certificates of Conformance (COC)
  • Strong organizational, communication, and software adaptation skills
  • Must be fluent in English
  • ITAR Compliance required with background checks as necessary

Preferred Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of experience in quality inspection, with 2 years as a Cable and Harness Inspector
  • Familiar with IPC-A-620 standards; IPC-A-620 certification a plus
  • Degree in Engineering

$25 - $32 an hour
Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.
