About the Position

The Data Analyst at Girl Scouts of Western Washington (GSWW) transforms data from across the council into actionable insights that support strategic decision-making across the council. This position partners with departments across GSWW to define reporting needs, collect and analyze internal and external data, identify trends, and communicate findings in clear and compelling formats for leadership and other stakeholders. The role is focused on council-wide reporting, market data collection, and strategic decision-support.
 

This is a regular, part-time (20-30 hours per week), non-exempt role that requires residency in Washington State, preferably within our council region of Western Washington. Work can be conducted remotely, but successful candidates must be willing and able to come into a GSWW office as needed or when requested. The starting pay range for this position is $27.69 to $32.00 per hour.

Requirements

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Council-Wide Reporting and Analysis

• Collect, clean, analyze, and synthesize data from multiple sources, including CRM systems, survey tools, camp and program databases, finance systems, web and marketing analytics, and other assigned sources.
• Develop and maintain reports, dashboards, and visualizations that track key performance indicators, strategic priorities, membership trends, program participation, community engagement, and operational measures.
• Conduct accurate and timely reporting using Excel, Power BI, Looker, and other business analysis tools to support leadership decisions and cross-functional planning.
• Provide ad-hoc analysis and reporting in response to council-wide business questions, campaigns, program design, operational improvements, and leadership requests.

External Data Collection and Research

• Collect, compile, and interpret market, demographic, community, and regional data to help GSWW understand opportunities, service gaps, audience needs, and growth trends across Western Washington.
• Solicit internal stakeholders to include needed survey and customer satisfaction data in partnership with requesting departments, ensuring results are understandable and useful for decision-making.

Strategic Reporting and Insight Development

• Assist in measuring the impact and sustainability of Girl Scout programs and offerings.
• Translate complex data into clear, concise, and compelling insights for non-technical audiences, including council leadership, strategic planning, and department teams.
• Assist with development of strategic reporting packages, executive summaries, slide presentations, charts, graphs, and dashboards that connect data findings to organizational goals and recommended actions.
• Conduct trend analysis, forecasting, segmentation, benchmarking, and comparative analysis to identify opportunities for membership growth, improved engagement, program impact, and operational effectiveness.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Partner with GSWW department leaders to define and prioritize reporting questions, data needs, success measures, and intended audiences.
• Collaborate with the IT Database Administrator to recommend improvements to reporting processes and information-sharing practices to strengthen council use of data. Contribute to development and sustainment of council data governance and reporting frameworks.

• Proficiency in Microsoft 365, including SharePoint, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and advanced Excel functions for analysis and reporting. 
• Proficiency with data visualization or business intelligence tools, such as Power BI, Tableau, Looker, or similar platforms. 
• Ability to communicate insights clearly through written, visual, and verbal formats for technical and non-technical audiences. 
• Demonstrated ability to develop meaningful dashboards, reports, charts, graphs, spreadsheets, and presentations that are accurate, accessible, and audience appropriate. 
• Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills with individuals from varying positions and backgrounds. 
• Demonstrated ability to multitask, prioritize deadlines, take initiative, work independently, and complete projects in a timely manner.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality in fast-paced and sensitive work environments.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Education and Experience Required

• Minimum of two years of experience in data analysis, reporting, business intelligence, or a related analytical role.
• Experience collecting, cleaning, analyzing, interpreting, and presenting data from multiple sources.
• Experience developing reports, dashboards, visualizations, executive summaries, or presentations for decision-makers.
• Experience with Excel and at least one data visualization or business intelligence tool; OR
• Equivalent combination of education and/or experience.

 Education and Experience Preferred

• Associate's degree in data analytics, data science, statistics, economics, business analytics, or related field.
• Experience in nonprofit, education, youth development, membership-based, or community-serving organizations.
• Experience using Power BI, Salesforce, Looker, Qualtrics, Google Analytics, Donor Perfect, Tableau, SQL, or similar tools.
• Experience with market research, demographic analysis, audience segmentation, survey development, program evaluation, or strategic performance reporting.
• Familiarity with CRM systems and business intelligence tools from an analyst/report consumer perspective.

Other Qualifications

• Must reside within Washington State, with preference for residence within our council region of Western Washington.
• Access to reliable transportation and the ability to fulfill infrequent travel requirements across widespread regional geography as necessary.
• Satisfactory results from criminal background search.
• Willingness to maintain Girl Scout membership.
• Must be willing and able to come into a Girl Scouts of Western Washington office or alternative worksite as needed or when requested.
