Job Summary/Description:
WILX-TV in Lansing, MI, is searching for an experienced MMJ for our Lifestyle Show. The style of the show is segment and interview-based, highlighting events and unique storytelling here in Mid-Michigan. The skill set we are looking for requires strong ad-libbing and interview skills. At least 2-3 years of experience in the air is preferred. Familiarity with ENPS, Adobe Premiere Editing System, and camera gear.
Duties/Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Assisting Producer with writing show segments
• Shooting and editing segments
• Interviewing show guests/clients both in-studio and on location when needed
• Collecting information, video, or photos at remote locations for post-production
• Greeting and assisting guests during show preparations.
• Pitching story ideas for the show
• Researching show topics and developing questions for guests in coordination with the Producer
• Participating in events -either station-sponsored or others - to promote the show
• Maintaining a strong social media account and assisting with all online content for the website/social media
• Continuously provide feedback on how the show can be better, take it to the next level
• Other duties as assigned by the Marketing Director
Qualifications/Requirements:
• Proven experience as an on-air personality or host to act as back-up or for interviews
• Ability to prioritize and address multiple projects with varying production timelines
• Must be energetic, positive, and great in a team environment
• Must be a highly motivated self-starter, able to work well alone and as part of a team
• Excellent communication, organizational skills, and creativity
