Job Summary
At Ashland Community and Technical College, we educate with excellence, serve with purpose, and equip our students to succeed for life. We are much more than just buildings and programs: we are a community where students find confidence, collaboration, compassion, and success. We are currently accepting applications for a part-time position in the Office of Career Services.
Job Duties:
โ€ข Assist both online and in-person students with career development services, including resume editing (via email and Handshake), virtual mock interviews, and career appointments
โ€ข Conduct classroom presentations independently on topics such as resume development, interview skills, and career readiness
โ€ข Attend and support local career days, career fairs, and community events
โ€ข Enter and manage appointments while assisting with data collection and analytics in Handshake
โ€ข Support students in creating and maintaining Handshake and LinkedIn profiles that highlight their skills, education, and career goals
โ€ข Assist with oversight of Handshake, the campus career development platform
โ€ข Assist with managing the ACTC Career Services Facebook group to promote job opportunities, internships, and events
โ€ข Deliver in-person and virtual workshops tailored to specific academic programs and career interests
โ€ข Provide resources and guidance to support career exploration and self-assessment
โ€ข Assist with planning and executing on-campus events, including mock interviews and career fairs
โ€ข Perform other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
โ€ข Bachelor's degree
โ€ข Strong computer skills required, including proficiency with database systems such as Handshake, Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Calendar, and Microsoft Teams
โ€ข Advanced skills in Microsoft Word (editing, formatting, document development) and Excel (data tracking, basic analytics)
โ€ข Ability to manage and maintain detailed calendars, appointments, and communications
โ€ข Strong understanding of the growing role technology plays in delivering career services, including virtual platforms and online student engagement
โ€ข Professional presence with strong written and verbal communication skills
โ€ข Ability to interact effectively with students, faculty, employers, and community partners
