Job description

Work arrangement - Onsite - Part-time
Schedule: 7:45 am to 4:00 pm Saturdays and from 9:45 am to 4:00 pm on Sundays, and additional shifts as needed due to special promotions and staff PTO
Work Summary
This part-time PSA position is from 7:45 am to 4:00 pm on Saturdays and from 9:45 am to 4:00 pm on Sundays, and additional shifts as needed due to special promotions and staff PTO. This customer service position plays an important role at the Duke Health & Fitness Center. This individual greets members & guests as they enter the facility, provides locker keys, towels, takes monetary transactions via POS for programs and services, and answers membership questions. This position requires computer data entry and retrieval. This position independently answers phones, handles customer inquiries/complaints, schedules massage appointments and provides emergency services as necessary. They are responsible for the processing of membership contracts, guest waivers, and other administrative paperwork. They do financial balances at the beginning and end of each shift. This position works approximately every other weekend, and with some possible coverage during the week as needed.
Minimum Qualifications
Education
Work requires knowledge of basic grammar and mathematical principles, normally acquired through high school education
Experience
A minimum of one year of work experience in direct communication. Experience in effectively coordinating multiple tasks or activities. Two years of customer service is preferred. Experience working with point of sale monetary transactions, including cash, check, and credit cards.
Special knowledge, skills, abilities, and physical requirements
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; Microsoft Office computer skills, Club Management software, cash handling skills, ability to perform multiple tasks at the same time
Able to stand for prolonged periods; able to lift 35 pounds; bending and twisting required.
