Job Summary:
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Supervise children at all times, maintaining a secure, safe environment for children to play and learn in.
- Supervise and train assistants in your room on policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Create and implement lesson plans.
- Complete necessary classroom reports.
- Prepare daily reports for each child in your classroom.
- Attend staff meetings outside of work hours.
- Provide positive feedback to parents.
- Communicates effectively with students, parents, and other professionals
- Adhere to proceedings and regulations with the DFPS.
- Change diapers/ toilet train children where necessary.
- Always comply with the presentation requirements set by the school.
- Attend ongoing training to keep education and regulations up to date.
- Participates in dismissal procedures at the end of after care, ensuring that each child leaves with the appropriate adult (i.e., an authorized adult)
- Supports and upholds the philosophy of Catholic education and the mission of the school
- Acts as a witness to Gospel values by modeling the teachings of the Catholic Church
- Supports and adheres to the policies and procedures of the school and Archdiocese of San Antonio, including the Religious Standards for Catholic School Employees
- Maintains confidentiality regarding school matters
- Demonstrates professionalism in conduct, demeanor, and work habits
- Maintaining a stimulating and varied schedule of activities appropriate for the students in a well-ordered environment
- Positive interaction with parents
- Attend Archdiocesan, on campus and other in-services as required
- Perform such other duties as may be assigned by the Director
- Have copy of medical and emergency records and first aid kit on hand daily
- Ensure that during the hours of operation there is at least one staff member trained in CPR/First Aid

- Required to monitor students in a variety of locations including those with noise, activity, and inclement

Position Requirements:
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent
- CDA credential preferred
Experience
- At least 18 years old
- One (1) year of experience in a childcare setting
Other Requirements
- Meet state’s education criteria
- Excellent communication skills
- Be a team player
- Have reliable transportation
- CPR and First Aid certification (can be obtained during job training)
- Must pass archdiocesan Safe Environment Requirements and background screening
