The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job's compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations.

Responsibilities:

Performs routine field and dry laboratory support activities for environmental research projects. Assists with the deployment, maintenance, and monitoring of field measurement equipment and supports data processing and quality control efforts. This position provides training in field operations, equipment handling, and data management.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Assists with the deployment, setup, and retrieval of field measurement instruments and supporting equipment at nearby research sites, following established procedures.
  • Performs routine field site visits for cleaning, inspection, and basic maintenance of instruments and associated hardware. Transports equipment and materials between campus and designated field locations in accordance with safety and handling guidelines.
  • Data Management: Downloads, organizes, and backs up field data following prescribed data management protocols. Performs basic data processing and quality control checks using established methods and tools. Maintains routine records of site visits, equipment status, and data collection activities.
  • Learns and follows standard field safety, equipment handling, and documentation practice
  • Assists with identifying equipment or data issues and reports observations to senior laboratory staff.
  • Other duties as assigned.


MINIMUM EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • High School diploma required
  • Or equivalent combination of education and experience required
