Job description

ERDCWERX - DEFENSEWERX is a neutral facilitator and trusted counselor, connecting a national network of individuals, businesses, educators and government organizations to enable creative and integrated solutions for our DoD customers.
This is an in-person position working approximately 26 hours per week, with hours scheduled Monday through Friday between 8:30 AM and 4:00 PM.
JOB SUMMARY:
As a part-time member of the ERDCWERX (EWX) Innovation Hub administrative team in Vicksburg, Mississippi, this on-site position reports to the Deputy Director and is responsible for optimizing the organization's data environment. The role leads efforts in database governance, data quality, reporting, and systems administration to ensure accurate, secure, and actionable information across the organization. This position supports the full utilization of existing databases, drives effective data management practices, and enhances team capabilities through tool administration, training, and process improvement. The role also contributes to aligning data systems and insights with ERDCWERX's mission and strategic objectives, including support for initiatives of government partner, US Army ERDC.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Administer team tools (e.g., HubSpot, Submittable), including system configuration, permissions, workflows, and templates.
  • Establish and enforce data governance standards, including data definitions, naming conventions, access controls, and retention policies.
  • Ensure data quality through validation rules, deduplication processes, routine audits, and issue resolution workflows.
  • Administer databases by managing user permissions, monitoring performance, and conducting routine maintenance.
  • Develop and maintain dashboards and recurring reports, including refresh schedules and distribution lists.
  • Define and document metrics logic, ensuring stakeholder alignment and formal sign-off.
  • Manage ETL/data pipelines, including source connections, transformations, refresh reliability, and failure alerting.
  • Maintain data security and compliance by applying least-privilege access, safeguarding sensitive data, and tracking system changes.
  • Provide team support through training, SOPs, user guides, and ongoing process improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain knowledge of ERDCWERX capabilities under the Partnership Intermediary Agreement (PIA) and support ERDC strategic goals, including T3 initiatives.
  • Pursue professional development to enhance technical and operational capabilities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support organizational objectives.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Associates degree required, Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 3-5 years of experience in database management, data analysis, and data visualization preferred.
  • Ability to manage multiple complex projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong collaboration, communication, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team with minimal supervision.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, CRM systems, web-based dashboards, and project management tools.
  • Must have no conflicts of interest related to DEFENSEWERX or the Department of Defense.
  • Willingness to travel minimally (less than 5%).
