Job Description - Senior Field Technician
Company: Steri-Clean of Southwest Michigan
Location: Portage, MI
Employment Type: Part-Time with potential for more hours
Reports To: Field Manager / Franchise Owner
Job Summary:Steri-Clean is a nationally recognized leader in biohazard remediation, hoarding cleanup, and specialty cleaning services. As a Field Technician, you will play a crucial role in restoring environments affected by traumatic events, hazardous materials, or extreme cleaning needs. You will work directly with clients in sensitive situations and be part of a compassionate, results-driven team committed to safety, discretion, and excellence.
Key Responsibilities:●       Perform on-site cleaning, decontamination, and remediation services including:
   - Biohazard cleanup (bloodborne pathogens, crime scenes, unattended deaths)
   - Hoarding and clutter removal
   - Virus and infection control cleaning
   - Mold, water and odor remediation
●       Empathetic and professional communication with clients
●       Properly use personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow all OSHA and company safety protocols
●       Operate industrial cleaning equipment and tools (e.g., foggers, vacuums, floor buffer)
●       Maintain accurate documentation of services, materials used, and time spent on jobs
●       Communicate professionally and compassionately with clients in stressful and emotional situations
●       Work in a team environment with flexibility to adapt to different job scopes and schedules
●       Handle biohazard waste according to state and federal guidelines
●       Participate in on-call rotation for emergency responses (including evenings, weekends, and holidays)
●       Assist with vehicle, equipment, and supply maintenance
Qualifications:●       High school diploma or GED required.
●       Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
●       Ability to pass background check and drug screening.
●       Physically fit: capable of lifting 50+ lbs., standing for long periods, and working in varied conditions.
●       Comfortable working in environments involving blood, bodily fluids, strong odors, or extreme clutter.
●       Strong attention to detail, reliability, and integrity.
●       Previous experience in restoration, cleaning, construction, or related field.
Work Environment:●       This role involves working in highly sensitive and potentially hazardous environments
