Requirements for Employment Eligibility:
  • Member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
  • Worthiness to hold and be worthy to hold a current temple recommend.
  • Receive clearance from the Church Educational System Ecclesiastical Clearance Office.
  • Strict adherence to company policies and procedures.
  • Commitment to bring about the purposes of Ensign College.
  • Resides in Utah.

Summary
The Communications Program seeks to hire part-time instructors (adjunct faculty) to teach a variety of courses in our Communications B.A.S. (COMM) program. The objective of the COMM B.A.S. is to prepare students for a variety of potential jobs related to communication (e.g. advertising, marketing, media, public relations, journalism, sales, etc.).
We are looking for industry professionals that have the time and flexibility to work with us and our students. They will have a strong commitment to high-quality undergraduate education.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Master's degree in business, marketing, communications, or related field from a regionally accredited institution.
  • Expertise in the course content area.
  • Excellent interpersonal, collaboration, administrative, organizational, writing, and computer skills.
  • Ability to apply field-related skills to the development and/or advancement of course content and delivery.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Proven teaching ability at the college level and an understanding of collaborative learning and competency-based instruction
  • Brand-specific certifications in any related course content area (e.g., Facebook Blueprint, Google Analytics Individual Qualification, etc.)

Job Functions
  • Complete all required training (FERPA, Title IX, etc.)
  • Review all instructional materials (Teaching plans, syllabi, etc.)
  • Support our unique learning and teaching framework
  • Create and execute immersive learning opportunities
  • Plan, prepare from, and follow an approved course curriculum that includes measurable objectives for each course taught
  • Creates and maintains a suitable environment for learning
  • Focus class interactions on immersive discussions and activities
  • Encourages student-instructor interactions
  • Evaluate student learning using multiple means of assessment
  • Maintain and submit timely and detailed student grade records
  • Attend one-on-ones and other meetings as necessary
  • Communicate concerns, suggestions, and recommendations to the program chair

Compensation
  • Dependent upon the approved rate schedule for the current year
