Job description

CONTINUING EDUCATION - BICYCLE REPAIR INSTRUCTOR - PART TIME
Olive-Harvey College is currently seeking a part-time instructor to teach Bicycle Repair courses. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated success in the classroom or training environment by developing and using effective teaching strategies that meet students' diverse needs and actively engage participants in hands-on learning.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
• Adapt teaching methods to meet varying skill levels and learning styles.
• Plan and conduct hands-on instructional activities that provide students with opportunities to inspect, diagnose, maintain, and repair bicycles.
• Demonstrate proper use of bicycle repair tools, equipment, and shop safety procedures.
• Monitor students' performance, provide constructive feedback, and ensure they meet course standards, training requirements, and learning objectives.
• Teach bicycle maintenance topics such as flat tire repair, brake adjustments, gear tuning, wheel alignment, and basic component replacement.
• Maintain a safe, organized, and productive classroom/shop environment.
• Be prepared to teach this course in person.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Experience in bicycle repair, maintenance, or bicycle shop operations.
• Prior teaching, training, or mentoring experience preferred.
• Bicycle mechanic certification or industry-recognized credentials preferred but not required.
• Ability to create a welcoming and supportive learning environment.
• Experience working with diverse populations.
• Ability to operate technical equipment, tools, and basic computer software.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
Salary is $35.00/hour
