Responsibilities:

  • Prepare patients for procedures by explaining the process, answering questions, and ensuring their comfort and privacy.
  • Position patients correctly to obtain optimal images and utilize appropriate techniques for each examination.
  • Operate ultrasound equipment effectively, selecting appropriate transducers and settings for different examinations.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and quality control standards to maintain a safe environment for patients and staff.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of patient information, imaging procedures, and results.
  • Collaborate effectively with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to discuss imaging findings and contribute to patient care plans.
  • Perform routine equipment checks, maintain equipment cleanliness, and report any malfunctions or necessary repairs.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment.

Qualifications:

  • Completion of an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography program.
  • Active certification as a Sonographer with Sonography Canada. (CMRITO)
  • Strong knowledge of human anatomy, physiology, and pathology.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and strong organizational skills for maintaining accurate records.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a fast-paced healthcare team.
