Job description

Job Title: Tool Pre-setter 

Job Summary 
Prepare and set up of cutting tools, tool holders, and related equipment for CNC (Computer Numerical Control) machines and maintain pre-set line inventory. 

Responsibility 
  • Setup and preset tools for production through the use of setup sheets and tooling drawings 
  • Use precision measuring instruments to inspect and measure tools for accuracy and compliance with technical drawings. 
  • Maintain detailed records of tool setups, adjustments, and inspections. Document tool performance and issues in data system. 
  • Perform cutting tool maintenance and simple repair. 
  • Assist in inventory control and replenishment for tooling and miscellaneous items. 
  • Distribution of materials in central stores. 

Academic/Educational Requirements 
  • Completion of secondary school or equivalent combination of education and work experience. 

Required Skills/Experience 
  • Proficient in the use of precision measurement tools. 
  • Good knowledge of metal cutting tools and understanding of CNC machinery. 
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings. 
  • Good communication and teamwork skills. 
  • Basic computer skills for data entry and record keeping.
