Job description

JOB TITLE:

JOB TITLE:

Weekend Part-Time Community Service Work Crew Monitor

LOCATION:

Cleburne, Texas

DESCRIPTION:

This is a part-time position, weekends (Saturday and Sunday 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.) Occasional work is available, but not required. In response to court ordered community service requirement of Adult Probation, position is responsible for planning, organizing, coordinating and overseeing community service work projects. Operation of department owned vehicles and trailers is required and may include travel between Johnson and Somervell Counties.

EXAMPLE OF DUTIES

Supervise adults on probation in the performance of various weekend community service work projects which may include landscaping, mowing, trash pick-up, and other general clean-up projects around the Johnson County area. Keep an accurate account of community service hours completed by each probationer. Oversee and ensure the safety of community service workers while performing community service. Keep track of and properly maintain all community service equipment. Maintain professional relations with outside agencies and governmental departments associated with community service projects and ensure proper rules and procedures are being followed for adults on probation who are performing community service.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Interested candidates must possess a high school diploma or equivalent, as well as a valid Texas driver's license and automobile liability insurance. Applicants must be able to demonstrate a strong working knowledge of basic building maintenance and the use and maintenance of lawn equipment and other hand tools. Use of computer and basic data entry preferred. Previous work crew experience preferred but not required. Applicants must be able to work outside in varied weather conditions, including extreme heat.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position without posing a direct threat to

the health and safety of themselves or others. Must deal with difficult and sometimes volatile

customers.

SALARY:

$20.00 per hour

SPECIALREQUIREMENTS:

Must possess and maintain a valid Driver License and insurance. Background investigation of prospective employees will be conducted.
