JOB POSTING
POSITION: Summer Discovery Enrichment Support Staff (Part Time)
LOCATION: Westview Elementary
SCHOOL YEAR: 2025/26
SALARY: $16 per hour (United Way Summer Discovery Grant funded amount)
QUALIFICATIONS:
60 college credits or a score of 460 or more on ETS ParaPro Assessment.
Previous work experience with children in Title 1 schools preferred.
Ability to follow verbal and written directions.
Ability to effectively communicate with students, parents, and staff.
Ability to organize materials and time efficiently and to keep neat, accurate records.
Ability to work directly with students in an appropriate and professional manner and give directions as needed.
Experience in supporting the facilitation of small group learning activities.
Must attend training provided by program site directors.
Enthusiastic, energetic, and positive.
Experience with English Language Learner and special education students preferred.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Become directly involved with and interact with students on enrichment projects and special activities as modeled by teachers and site directors.
Prepare enrichment materials under the direction of the teacher and/or site director(s) in an accurate and timely manner.
Work with students in the class with enrichment activities guiding and helping but not teaching.
Under the direction of the teacher and site director, assist in supervising, interacting, and working directly with students in the classroom and other settings including the lunchroom, playground, band/music/art/technology rooms, gym, library, field trips, and/or other areas.
Provide support and supervision to students during lunch, recess, and enrichment activities.
Provides academic and/or behavioral support to students who need additional assistance.
Keep the teachers and site directors informed of any special needs or problems of students.
Ensure students are supported emotionally during summer school.
Maintain confidentiality.
Implement PBIS program components to support students academic, behavior, and attendance goals.
Facilitate and supervise students; daily enrichment activities as outlined in the summer program schedule.
Supervise students during all on-site enrichment assemblies and activities as well as all off-site field trips following all program guidelines to ensure student safety as directed by site directors.
Attend all scheduled days of the summer discovery program including professional development training.
Perform other duties and functions as assigned by the classroom teacher and/or site directors.
SCHEDULE:
Room Set-Up; Building Training at Westview Date:
June 26th (8 am - 12 pm)
Summer Discovery Dates:
July 6 - July 31, Monday - Friday;
Staff hours: 4 hours per day, 5 days per week / daily schedule set by the Summer School Site Director. 11:00- 3:00pm. Staff hours may be flexed 30 mins before or 30 mins after student hours depending on the Site Director (s) scheduling.
Room Break-Down and Clean Up Date:
August 3- Monday (8am- 12 pm)
ADDITIONAL INFO:
All staff are required to attend 2 days (8 hours total) of mandatory paid training/activities as notated above.
