Position: Code Sensei
Part Time Up to 20 hours/week | Weekday Afternoons, Evenings and Saturdays
Position would start with low hours and increase over time. We cannot consider applicants who do not have availability on Saturdays at this time.
Who are we?
Code Ninjas is the nation's fastest growing kids coding franchise. In our center, kids ages 5-14 learn to code in a fun, non-intimidating way - by playing and building video games they love. Kids have a blast and can't wait to come back. Parents are thrilled as their children gain confidence and new skills including coding, math, logic, and problem-solving, as they progress from white to black belt. Our core promise is, Kids have fun, parents see results. We believe in these words so much that it's written on the walls in our center!
What are we looking for?
We are looking for an outgoing and energetic Code Sensei at least 16 years of age to join our team of dynamic, energetic, forward thinking minds, working toward our common goal: providing a fun and safe learning environment for children while delivering exceptional, personalized attention to families. Are you experienced in working with children? Do you enjoy teaching and building problem solving skills in young engineering minds? Have you mentored youth? This could be the role for you!
Responsibilities include:
โ€ข Training - go through the curriculum, learn it and apply it to your teaching practices
  • Undergo additional training in safety, company & center policies, customer service and more
  • Participate in mandatory quarterly staff meetings and recurring individual meetings
  • Assist with planning and delivery of programs, beyond those written in curriculum
  • Create a positive and safe environment in which students can grow
  • Oversee day-to-day coaching, activities and student engagement
  • Work with children to determine skill sets
  • Provide feedback to parents after working with student and through ongoing progress reports
  • Follow opening/closing duties daily including cleaning, quality checks and more
  • Clean center areas throughout the day to ensure cleanliness is kept up to corporate standards
  • Report to center director on your own progress and projects, as well as the progress and projects of the students
  • Other duties to be determined by the center director

Preferred Experiences and Characteristics:
  • Working history with children ages 5 and up (mentoring, coaching, tutoring etc.)

โ€ข Flexible hours, particularly evenings and weekends
โ€ข Works well with others; collaborates, can be flexible and adaptable to quickly changing conditions
โ€ข Able to complete curriculum training on your own time

  • Reliable transportation and commitment to working assigned shifts is mandatory
