Job Summary

The Part-Time Art Teacher (one day a week) at St. Agnes Catholic Church is responsible for delivering engaging, developmentally appropriate visual arts instruction to students in grades Pre-K through 8. The successful candidate will foster creativity while integrating Catholic values and contributing to the spiritual and academic growth of students.

Job Responsibilities
  • Plan and teach art lessons that reflect both the Archdiocesan curriculum and national standards for visual arts education.

  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and creative classroom environment that encourages artistic expression and critical thinking.

  • Integrate Catholic values and teachings into art instruction when appropriate.

  • Organize and display student artwork throughout the school and at school/parish events.

  • Maintain classroom materials, order supplies, and ensure safe use of art equipment and resources.

  • Collaborate with classroom teachers and school staff on cross-curricular or special projects.

  • Support school-wide liturgical, cultural, and community events through visual arts.

  • Maintain accurate student records and communicate progress to parents and administration.

  • Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and school functions as required.

  • Uphold and model the values of the Catholic faith in personal and professional interactions.

Job Requirements
  • Missouri Teaching Certification (Art K-12 preferred) or eligibility to obtain certification.

  • Previous teaching experience in a school setting, preferably Catholic or private.

  • Practicing Catholic preferred; must support the mission of Catholic education.

  • Strong classroom management, communication, and organizational skills.

  • Ability to inspire and nurture creativity across a wide range of age groups and skill levels.
