Depending on the needs of your employer, your responsibilities can include everything from supervising teams, estimating production costs, and delivering reports to project stakeholders.

What engineers make $300,000 a year?

Senior chemical engineers with extensive experience, advanced degrees, and specialized skills in process optimization or management can earn $300,000 or more annually. High-level engineering roles in industries like oil and gas, pharmaceuticals, or aerospace often offer such compensation, especially with leadership responsibilities or bonuses.

Can you make 300k as a Chemical Engineer?

Earning $300,000 as a chemical engineer is possible but typically requires extensive experience, advanced specialization, management roles, or working in high-paying industries such as oil and gas or pharmaceuticals. Most chemical engineers earn between $70,000 and $120,000 annually, with higher salaries often associated with senior positions or geographic locations with higher living costs.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Part Time Chemical Engineer, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Part Time Chemical Engineer, you generally need a degree in chemical engineering or a related field, with a solid grasp of process design, chemistry, and mathematics. Familiarity with simulation software such as Aspen Plus or MATLAB, as well as experience with laboratory and process control equipment, is typically required. Strong problem-solving, teamwork, and time management skills help you efficiently handle varied projects and adapt to flexible work schedules. These competencies ensure that even in a part-time role, you can contribute effectively to project goals, maintain safety standards, and deliver reliable engineering solutions.

What engineer makes $500,000 a year?

Highly experienced senior chemical engineers working in leadership roles, such as engineering managers or directors in large corporations, can earn salaries approaching or exceeding $500,000 annually, especially with bonuses and stock options. Such roles typically require advanced degrees, extensive industry experience, and expertise in specialized areas or management.

What are part time chemical engineers?

Part time chemical engineers are professionals who apply principles of chemistry, physics, mathematics, and engineering to solve problems involving the production or use of chemicals, but they work fewer hours than a full-time schedule, often less than 35 hours per week. Their responsibilities may include research, process design, safety assessments, or quality control, depending on the employer’s needs. Part time positions are ideal for students, semi-retired professionals, or those seeking flexible work arrangements, and can be found in industries like pharmaceuticals, energy, and manufacturing.

How do part-time chemical engineers typically balance project responsibilities with limited working hours?

Part-time chemical engineers often focus on specific project tasks or phases that can be accomplished within their scheduled hours, such as data analysis, process optimization, or report preparation. Clear communication with supervisors and team members is essential to ensure alignment on deadlines and expectations. Many companies provide flexible work arrangements and prioritize effective collaboration tools to support part-time staff. This structure allows part-time engineers to contribute meaningfully while balancing other commitments.

Position Summary

The Manufacturing Manager is an onsite role based in Fort Wayne, Indiana, with potential travel to Auburn, Indiana, responsible for the day-to-day operation of VeroTouch Science's testing and manufacturing facility. This role owns the integrity of test data, the calibration and upkeep of lab equipment, and the training and oversight of technicians. The Manufacturing Manager works closely with the R&D and operations teams to translate formulation and product development goals into disciplined, repeatable testing protocols, and serves as the technical backbone connecting raw material characterization, batch quality control, and new product development.

This is a ground-floor leadership opportunity. The right individual will help build the manufacturing facilities' systems and standards from the ground up, working directly with senior technical staff, with a clear path for advancement, including the potential for equity after one year of service.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Manufacturing Operations and Management

• Own the daily operation of the manufacturing facility, including scheduling, staffing coordination, and prioritization of testing workloads across production support and R&D projects.

• Establish, document, and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for all recurring test methods.

• Maintain a clean, organized, and safety-compliant manufacturing environment in accordance with company and OSHA standards.

• Manage manufacturing facility supply inventory, including reagents, consumables, and testing materials, and coordinate reordering with the operations lead.

Testing and Quality Control

• Design, run, and oversee materials testing on raw materials, in-process batches, and finished products, including density, rheology, set time, compressive strength, and other relevant performance metrics.

• Review test data for accuracy and consistency before it is used for batch release or reporting; investigate and document any out-of-spec results.

• Build and maintain traceable, digital testing records and quality control logs that support both production release and long-term R&D analysis.

• Support root cause investigations for quality issues identified in production or in the field.

Equipment and Calibration

• Maintain, calibrate, and troubleshoot all lab testing equipment on a defined schedule, keeping accurate calibration and maintenance records.

• Evaluate and recommend new lab equipment or instrumentation as testing needs evolve.

• Coordinate equipment repairs and vendor service visits as needed.

R&D Support

• Partner with the R&D and formulation team to design and execute experiments supporting new product development and formulation improvements.

• Prepare small-batch trial formulations and document results with sufficient rigor to support formulation decisions.

• Help translate successful lab-scale formulations into production-scale batch procedures.
