General Summary
The Wrangler Express/Call Center will provide first-class customer service to all customers by phone, email, instant chat and in person. This area serves as the front door to Odessa College and also is a first-call/visit resolution center for all student services-related needs. The Wrangler Express/Call Center serves as the first point of contact for visitors as well as the main operator for the college and directs all visitors/callers to the appropriate department or college personnel.
Specific Position Duties
  • Provide information to prospective and current students, and the general public via phone, email, chat and in person regarding all areas and services of the college;
  • Respond to all student inquires regarding admissions, financial aid, registration, account balances and holds;
  • Processes/triages all email inquires for registration, drops, adds, and withdraws, etc.;
  • This position is responsible for processing various forms, admissions applications, linking documents;
  • Provide first-class customer service to all customers by phone, email, chat and in person, etc.;
  • Serve as a cashier, properly taking payments and receipting correctly; properly reconcile cash drawer daily and record balance in a daily log as needed;
  • Ability to follow policies and procedures and quickly learn new or additional ones, multi-tasking and paying close attention to detail required;
  • Demonstrate success of teamwork;
  • Perform other duties assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
  • High School diploma or equivalent;
  • Must be willing to work a flexible schedule -- mornings, evenings, some holidays and Saturday work is required;
  • Typing skills including 10 key with the ability to produce accurate records and professional quality material through use of computer keyboard;
  • Must have experience with Microsoft Office Suite, internet, email and instant messaging software;
  • The position requires excellent communications skills (verbal and written);
  • Must be able to communicate effectively via telephone, chat and in person;
  • Must be able to sit and use the computer for long periods of time;
  • Ability to work under stress and in a high pace environment, working both independently and as a team member while dealing with all customers in an effective, efficient and professional manner.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Some college course work preferred;
  • Bilingual (verbal and written) a plus;
  • Willingness to participate in activities supporting students and Odessa College stakeholders, including community service;
  • Experience with various forms of technology and software applications
