What is a Part Time CCNA job?

A Part Time CCNA job is a role that requires Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification and involves working on a flexible or reduced-hour basis. Responsibilities may include configuring and maintaining networks, troubleshooting connectivity issues, and supporting IT infrastructure. These roles are ideal for students, freelancers, or professionals seeking additional experience while managing other commitments. Opportunities can be found in industries like IT services, telecommunications, and enterprise networking.

Can I get a job with just a CCNA?

A CCNA certification can help you qualify for entry-level networking roles such as network technician or support specialist, but many employers prefer candidates with additional experience or certifications. Having strong troubleshooting skills and familiarity with Cisco equipment increases job prospects, but additional experience or certifications may be needed for more advanced positions.

What jobs pay 4000 a week without a degree?

Part-time roles in high-demand fields such as skilled trades, sales, or freelance work can sometimes pay $4,000 weekly without a degree, especially with experience or specialized skills. Examples include freelance IT consulting, sales commissions, or certain technical certifications like CCNA that can lead to lucrative contract work. However, such earnings typically require significant expertise, certifications, or a strong client base, and are less common in traditional part-time jobs.

What are the main responsibilities of a Part Time CCNA, and how do they fit within an IT team?

A Part Time CCNA usually handles tasks such as configuring network devices, performing routine network maintenance, and troubleshooting connectivity or performance issues. You may also assist with upgrading network hardware, documenting configurations, and responding to support requests from other team members. Working closely with network engineers and other IT staff, you help ensure that network services remain stable and secure. This role is ideal if you're looking to gain hands-on experience in networking while balancing other commitments, and it can be a great stepping stone for more advanced networking positions in the future.

Is CCNA still worth IT in 2026?

The CCNA certification remains valuable for network technicians and administrators, as it validates foundational networking skills and knowledge of Cisco devices. In 2026, it continues to be a recognized credential for entry-level and intermediate networking roles, especially when combined with practical experience and other certifications like Cisco's higher-level certifications or vendor-neutral options. Staying current with evolving networking technologies and tools is essential for career growth in this field.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in the Part Time Ccna position, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Part Time CCNA, you need solid knowledge of networking fundamentals, IP addressing, routing, and switching, typically reflected by earning the Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification. Familiarity with Cisco networking equipment, command-line interfaces, and network monitoring tools is essential for the role. Strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and effective communication are key soft skills that enhance performance in a part-time capacity. These skills ensure reliable network support and troubleshooting, contributing to efficient IT operations and organizational productivity.

Is CCNA still in demand?

The CCNA certification remains in demand for network administration, support, and engineering roles as it validates foundational networking skills. Employers value CCNA-certified professionals for their knowledge of Cisco networking devices, protocols, and troubleshooting, especially in environments that rely on Cisco infrastructure.

General Description
The Continuing Education & Workforce Development Department seeks a part-time instructor for our CompTIA A+ Certification program. We are looking for an engaging, tech-savvy professional to teach adult learners, entrepreneurs, career changers, and job seekers through a blend of in-person sessions and on-demand online modules. You will facilitate learning, monitor progress, and prepare students to pass both the official CompTIA A+ V15 Core 1 and V15 Core 2 exams.
Please note that this course covers the practical operational functionality, troubleshooting procedures, and configuration setups tested on the exams; theoretical computer science mathematics or abstract engineering principles are not part of the curriculum. Under Core 1, the curriculum focuses on mobile devices, networking technology, hardware components, virtualization, cloud computing, and network troubleshooting. Core 2 topics expand into installing and configuring operating systems (Windows, Mac, Linux, Android, iOS), expanded security parameters, software troubleshooting, and operational procedures. Additionally, the curriculum guides students through standard help desk ticket resolution, malware remediation, and security script basics.
Characteristics, Duties, and Responsibilities
โ€ข Provide CompTIA A+ instruction to students utilizing the established curriculum provided by UCNJ Union College, of Union County, NJ for both the Core 1 and Core 2 Certification Programs.
โ€ข Teach material strictly from the approved curriculum, following predefined course outlines and delivering a clear, comprehensive syllabus focused solely on hardware/software functionality and troubleshooting workflows.
โ€ข Conduct lectures and practical training explicitly aligned with navigating command-line interfaces, physical hardware assemblies, and passing the official CompTIA A+ certification exams.
โ€ข Provide quality, technically relevant instruction, assessment, and feedback in both lecture and laboratory settings, utilizing real-world simulations, hands-on exercise labs, and project workbooks.
โ€ข Instruct or co-instruct courses for non-credit programs across traditional lecture, hybrid, and fully online formats, with the ability to teach remote live and support asynchronous on-demand modules.
โ€ข Monitor student performance on targeted pre-and post-assessments, motivate active participation, and provide constructive feedback to ensure course standards and technical fluency objectives are met.
โ€ข Guide students through core and advanced IT workflows, moving seamlessly from basic computer component assembly to advanced network configuration, malware removal, and security policy management.
โ€ข Maintain meticulous and compliant institutional records, including daily attendance tracking, midterm reporting, and final grade entries.
โ€ข Assist with ongoing course and program evaluations to ensure the curriculum continuously prepares students for the official testing windows.
Education Requirements
โ€ข Bachelor's degree in a related field or advanced certification from a four-year college or university in the relevant industry/discipline is required.
โ€ข Official, current CompTIA A+ Certification (covering both Core 1 and Core 2 domains) preferred.
Experience
โ€ข Requires a minimum of three (3) or more years of formal teaching experience, preferably instructing adult learners in vocational or non-credit continuing education environments.
โ€ข A minimum of five (5) years of practical, hands-on experience in desktop support, network administration, systems troubleshooting, or corporate help desk engineering roles.
โ€ข Advanced, demonstrable technical proficiency in PC hardware customization, network router configuration, enterprise malware removal tools, and navigating active directory environments.
โ€ข Proven track record in adult education, workforce development, corporate training, or vocational instruction.
โ€ข Official, active CompTIA A+ certification is required. Higher-level certifications (such as CompTIA Network+, Security+, or Cisco CCNA) are highly preferred.
โ€ข Exceptional communication skills with a proven ability to translate complex networking topologies, Command Prompt syntax, and hardware configurations into clear, actionable lessons.
โ€ข Deep conceptual understanding that the instructional mandate is strictly focused on device management, configuration workflows, and physical diagnostics rather than theoretical computing architecture.
โ€ข Practical familiarity with managing course shells within Learning Management Systems (specifically Canvas) and coordinating student activities inside simulated digital laboratory environments (e.g., CompTIA CertMaster Labs).
Competencies and Skills Required
โ€ข Skill in delivering complex technical material strictly according to predefined course outlines, institutional syllabi, and mandatory certification topics, focusing explicitly on applied technical functionality over abstract computer science theories.
โ€ข Ability to multi-task in a busy academic environment and effectively pace hardware simulations, live diagnostics, and lectures to ensure full classroom testing readiness within an accelerated curriculum window.
โ€ข Curious educator utilizing innovative educational methodologies with the ability to quickly master new program curricula and digital learning management platforms.
โ€ข Strong interpersonal skills to assist leadership with ongoing course evaluations and program improvements.
โ€ข Ability to teach face-to-face, hybrid, and online classrooms using remote-live tools, virtual hands-on exercise labs, video-based lessons, and learning management systems (LMS).
โ€ข Skill in evaluating student work via pre-and post-assessments, providing actionable feedback, answering hardware or software configuration inquiries promptly, and motivating active classroom participation.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
โ€ข This position's duties are normally performed in a typical work environment, based on the activity scheduled.
โ€ข Some physical effort required; however, the employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
โ€ข No or very limited exposure to physical risk.
