Job Summary for the Evangelization Coordinator Role:
The Evangelization Coordinator is responsible for planning, implementing and overseeing initiatives that foster a culture of evangelization within the parish community. This role focuses on inviting, forming, and accompanying individuals in their journey of faith, ensuring alignment with the mission of the Catholic Church and the parish’s pastoral vision.
Duties and Responsibilities – oversee or perform some or all of the following:
Develop and Implement Evangelization Strategies:
  • Create and execute parish-wide evangelization plans in collaboration with the pastor and ministry leaders.
  • Promote outreach to inactive Catholics, seekers, and the local community.
Coordinate Programs and Events:
  • Organize parish missions, retreats, and small faith-sharing groups.
  • Support sacramental reparation programs with an evangelizing approach.
Volunteer Recruitment and Training:
  • Recruit, train, and mentor volunteers for evangelization initiatives.
  • Provide ongoing formation for parish leaders and evangelization teams.
Communication and Engagement:
  • Utilize digital platforms, social media, and parish communications to share the Gospel message.
  • Ensure welcoming and hospitable environments for newcomers and visitors.
  • Provide ongoing formation for parish leaders and evangelization teams.
Collaboration:
  • Work closely with the other parish ministries (OCIA, youth ministry, adult faith formation) to integrate evangelization efforts.
  • Network with diocesan offices and neighboring parishes for the best practices.
Qualifications:
  • Practicing Catholic in good standing with the Church
  • Strong understanding of Catholic teaching and evangelization principles.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Theology, Pastoral Ministry or related field (preferred).
  • Experience in parish ministry or evangelization leadership
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed.
