Job description

Faithful Home Care Solutions is seeking a reliable, compassionate, and experienced male or female caregiver to provide part-time care for a client in the Elkins Park area.

Services are needed ASAP.

This opportunity is ideal for a caregiver looking for a part-time schedule with flexible daytime hours.

Position Overview

The Direct Care Worker will provide non-medical personal care and supportive services to help the client remain safe, comfortable, and independent in her home and community.

The caregiver will assist with transportation to appointments, medication reminders, light meal preparation, household tasks, and general supervision and companionship.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Provide companionship and supportive supervision

  • Assist with fall prevention and safety awareness

  • Provide medication reminders according to the care plan

  • Drive the client to physical therapy and doctor's appointments

  • Assist with making the bed and changing linens

  • Assist with laundry and other light household tasks

  • Prepare simple meals, such as sandwiches, soup, or other light lunches

  • Assist with activities of daily living as needed

  • Provide support related to the client's left-side neglect following a stroke

  • Encourage independence while providing appropriate assistance

  • Maintain a safe, clean, and comfortable home environment

  • Communicate effectively with the client, family, and care team

  • Maintain strict client confidentiality

  • Follow the individualized care plan and agency policies

Shift Requirements

Part-Time Schedule – Elkins Park

The client is seeking one of the following scheduling arrangements:

  • 2–3 days per week, approximately 4 hours per day

OR

  • 4 days per week, approximately 2 hours per day

Schedule and days will be discussed and finalized based on client needs and caregiver availability.

Start Date: ASAP

QualificationsEducation
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred

  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively

Experience
  • Previous caregiving experience preferred

  • Experience caring for stroke survivors preferred

  • Experience working with clients who are at risk for falls

  • Comfortable providing medication reminders

  • Comfortable assisting with transportation to medical and therapy appointments

  • Ability to assist with light housekeeping and simple meal preparation

  • Compassionate, patient, dependable, and attentive to client safety

Licensure & Other Requirements
  • Valid driver's license

  • Reliable and insured transportation

  • Clean driving record preferred

  • Satisfactory background check

  • Professional references
