Job description

Job Title: Part-Time Clinical Research Coordinator

Hours: 24 per week (Monday-Friday)

Job Description

This part-time Clinical Research Coordinator position is dedicated to supporting a C.diff clinical trial at a research site in the Medley, FL area. The role requires identifying and recruiting eligible participants, educating them about the study, and ensuring their engagement and compliance throughout the trial. The position demands strong clinical research experience, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with participants and research staff.

Responsibilities

  • Review electronic medical records (EMR) to assess potential participants against study inclusion and exclusion criteria.
  • Pre-screen potential participants based on protocol-defined eligibility requirements.
  • Recruit and enroll participants into the clinical trial in accordance with study protocols and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide clear and thorough education to participants about the clinical trial, including study procedures, expectations, and follow-up requirements.
  • Conduct follow-up communications with participants to support retention and ensure ongoing protocol compliance.
  • Schedule in-person visits and follow-up appointments, and send reminders and relevant information to participants in a timely manner.
  • Engage in community outreach by visiting clinics/hospitals, distributing recruitment materials, educating medical staff, and maintaining online recruitment portals.
  • Build and maintain relationships with referral physicians to support recruitment.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of chart reviews, pre-screening activities, and participant interactions in the EMR and study records.
  • Collaborate closely with the research team to coordinate patient recruitment activities and ensure smooth trial operations.
  • Adhere to Good Clinical Practice (GCP), HIPAA, and site-specific policies in all aspects of participant management and data handling.

Essential Skills

  • Proven experience working as a Clinical Research Coordinator.
  • At least 2 years of experience in patient recruitment for clinical research studies.
  • At least 2 years of experience working with electronic medical records (EMR).
  • Hands-on experience with chart review and pre-screening of patients for clinical trials.
  • Training in HIPAA regulations and patient privacy requirements.
  • Training in Good Clinical Practice (GCP).
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple participants, visits, and follow-up activities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to engage confidently with participants and research staff.
  • Ability to work accurately and efficiently in a fast-paced clinical research environment with a high level of attention to detail.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English is preferred and will support communication with a diverse participant population.
  • Prior experience supporting vaccine or infectious disease clinical trials is beneficial.
  • Familiarity with patient recruitment strategies and tools used in clinical research.
  • Ability to build rapport with participants and encourage ongoing engagement in the study.
  • Comfort working within structured protocols and adhering to regulatory and ethical standards.

This is a Contract position based out of Medley, FL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $33.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
