Job description

Role OverviewThe I&C Engineer III is a senior-level contributor responsible for leading instrumentation and control engineering activities for gas turbine and power plant projects. This role provides technical leadership, drives design decisions, ensures quality and compliance, and mentors junior engineers.Key Responsibilities

         Demonstrates our core competencies: Action oriented, change champion, customer-focused, developing self & others, and ownership

         Lead evaluation and interpretation of customer contract requirements and technical specifications

         Own instrumentation scope, schedules, and deliverables for assigned projects

         Develop and review complex instrumentation specifications, RFQs, and procurement strategies

         Provide technical oversight of vendor selection, bid evaluations, and supplier performance

         Ensure accuracy and completeness of P&IDs, instrument indexes, I/O lists, and loop designs

         Lead development and review of datasheets, drawings, and design documentation

         Drive resolution of technical issues, customer comments, and design conflicts

         Act as primary technical interface with clients, suppliers, and cross-functional teams

         Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineers

         Lead development and continuous improvement of I&C procedures, standards, and best practices

         Support and lead troubleshooting, commissioning, and field issue resolution

         Ensure compliance with international codes, standards, and regional requirements

         Lead new vendor qualification and evaluation efforts

         Support business development activities including bid reviews and technical proposals

Requirements

         Bachelor's degree in Engineering (or equivalent experience)

         Typically, 6-10+ years of relevant I&C experience in power generation or similar industries

         Strong expertise in gas turbine controls and/or balance-of-plant systems

         Advanced knowledge of control systems (e.g., MK5/MK6, T3000, Ovation, DeltaV, SIMATIC, etc.)

         Deep experience with SPI (SmartPlant Instrumentation) or similar engineering tools

         Strong knowledge of instrumentation design, sizing, and application

         Advanced understanding of I/O architecture, system integration, and plant operations

         Proven ability to interpret and apply industry standards (ISA, ANSI/NEMA, NFPA, AGA, etc.)

         Demonstrated leadership, mentoring, and decision-making skills

         Strong problem-solving and project execution capabilities

         Effective communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders

         Willingness to travel up to 5-10%
