IT, Cybersecurity and Cloud Computing Instructor, Adult-Education
Adjunct Status, Part-time up to 28 hours per week/ up to 4 days a week as needed. Flexible schedule.
Responsibilities:
Designs and prepares meaningful, systematic and sequential instructions with relevant learning activities to meet objectives of the course(s) assigned.
Under the direction of the IT, Cybersecurity and Cloud Computing Program Coordinator deploys technologies and/or applications in the labs where his/her classes are assigned.
Assists students with certification assessment preparation.
Teaches courses assigned by the Program Coordinator.
Regularly revises assigned to him/her courses under the direction of and in collaboration with the Program Coordinator to assure the correlation with changing business needs derived from the ongoing and evolving developments in IT Operations, IT Infrastructure, Cybersecurity, and Cloud Computing Technologies development and deployments, as well as introduction of new and evolving technologies, like Artificial Intelligence(AI), and Quantum Computing any other new advancements in the above mentioned fields and concentrations.
Promotes the Program and participates in recruitment of new students through a variety of activities and means.
Supports the Program Coordinator in all of the following:
Attends Program Advisory Board meetings and shares his/her perspective on the needs of the Program with the Advisory Committee in seeking the advice from the Advisory Committee on ways to advance the Program.
Modifies existing or introducing and promoting additions of new and emerging technologies into the Program.
Prepares the students to enter "on the job training" or to "get the job", and ensures that the Program standards and activities are relevant to the current and emerging needs of Businesses and Industries locally and in the State of Ohio.
Attends the Program Departmental instructional and informational meetings and "training/cross training" sessions.
Performs other duties as assigned by the Program Coordinator.
Demonstrates professional demeanor, and flexibility to meet the changing needs of the students.
Stays current with the changes in technologies relevant to the Program.
Required Qualifications:
Minimum of five years of proven professional, practical, paid career experience in any of the following areas (or the combination of any of the following):
IT Network Infrastructure Design, Deployment, Operation, Maintenance, Upgrade, Cybersecurity and Information Security - Knowledge/practical experience of/with Cisco, Palo Alto, Fortinet, and other major platforms and devices is definite plus.
Technical Support and Help Desk.
Network Operations Level 1 or Level 2 Network Engineering roles and responsibilities.
End User Hardware/Devices and Software: deployment, upgrade, maintenance, security, and disposal practices.
Cloud Computing experience with any or the combination of any of the following platforms and concentrations:
*Microsoft Azure; *Amazon AWS; * Google Cloud Platform (GCP); * Any other Cloud platforms or Cloud related concentrations and technologies.
General Cybersecurity and various Cybersecurity specialties and concentrations.
Software/Application and development.
Scripting in any of the following languages: Python; JavaScript; PowerShell; Ruby; PHP; Perl; and Bash.
Post-Secondary teaching experience or corporate training experience is preferred (but not required).
Valid Licensure/Permit by the Ohio Department of Education as an Adult Education Instructor.
Any combination of the following current or recent Certifications:
CompTIA: * A+, * Network +, * Linux+, * Security+, * CySA+, * Pentest+, * Cloud Essentials, * Cloud+
Cisco: * CCNA or * CCNP.
Microsoft: Azure Fundamentals, Azure AI Fundamentals, Azure Administrator Associate, or higher.
AWS: * AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner; * AWS Certified Security- Specialty; * AWS Certified Machine Learning - Specialty; * AWS Certified SysOps Administrator.
GCP: * Google Digital Leader; * Google Cloud Associate Cloud Engineer; * Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect.
Adheres to the Licensure Code of Professional Conduct for Ohio Educators.
Maintains a record free of criminal violations that would prohibit public school employment. Able to successfully pass a BCI/FBI background check after a job offer is made.
Maintains compliance with Board policies and other applicable procedures/guidelines.

Familiarity, practical experience and/or Certifications with Cybersecurity and Networking technologies from any or all of the following leading vendors and training providers:

Duties:
Classroom instructions/facilitation.
Skills/objectives demonstrations.
Assists students with certification exams preparation and evaluates students' preparedness for taking the respective exams/tests.
Support Program Coordinator with the assigned Courses' content revision to reflect on the changes in Certification requirements and the content of the courses as they imposed by respective Certification/Training authorities/bodies (i.e. CompTIA, Microsoft, Cisco, AWS, Google, and other future vendors or certification/regulatory bodies as they will evolve with the ongoing development and modification of the Program.
Participates in modifying the existing and the development of future courses and curriculum.
Attends departmental training sessions, meetings, Advisory Board meetings and other Departmental activities.
Stays current with the advancement and changes in technologies and concentrations assigned to teach.
Training and cross-training with other Instructors and the Program Coordinator on the existing and emerging technologies and methods of delivery of the content to the class.
Other duties as assigned by the Program Coordinator or Director of Adult Education.
Location:
Warren County Career Center, Lebanon, OH.
Salary and work schedule:
$31.08 per hour.
Flexible schedule 2-4 days per week.
Monday-Thursday days and/or evenings up to 28 hours per week. If necessary, make up classes on Fridays.
