Job description

Job Description Summary
The Modern Languages Department at Bentley University is accepting applications to build a pool of instructors for possible future part-time Adjunct Lecturer, Chinese assignments. The department chairperson will review applications as vacancies become available.
Primary Responsibilities:
โ€ข Teach Chinese Basic and Intermediate courses (MLCH 101, MLCH 102, MLCH 201, and MLCH 202).
โ€ข Create an effective classroom environment that fosters student's curiosities and abilities to practice their language skills.
โ€ข Delivers course content that meets learning outcomes and encourage student's active participation in the classroom and beyond.
โ€ข Promote the study of languages.
โ€ข Collaborate in the development and continued assessment of learning outcomes for use in program reviews and curriculum revision.
โ€ข Hold office hours.
Minimum Qualifications:
MA required, PhD preferred.

Salary Range:
Compensation for adjunct faculty is governed by the collective bargaining agreement between Bentley University and the Service Employees International Union (SEIU) Local 509.
For the 2025-26 academic year, adjunct faculty are compensated at a rate of $7,225.00 per course.
Courses with labs and other four-credit courses shall will be compensated at a higher minimum rate of $9,333.00 per course.
