As a cashier, you are responsible for ensuring our customers have an amazing shopping experience by providing a welcome greeting, accurately processing cash register transactions and actively soliciting "Roundup" opportunities. The cashier exhibits customer commitment, personal effectiveness, and plays a key role in our mission.
Part-time Retail Associate - Cashier (Auburn location)

The Auburn Retail Store, located on 2040 South College Street, Auburn, AL, is currently looking for a hard-working and dedicated Retail Associate - Cashier.
Goodwill Industries of the Southern Rivers, Inc.'s Retail Associate - Cashier responsibilities:
  • Ensures that each guest receives outstanding customer service.
  • Assists customers with purchases and pricing.
  • Operates the cash register system and applies basic math skills including, but not limited to, basic addition and subtraction of money.
  • Understands item pricing and "color of the week".
  • Maintains the sales floor and dressing room appearance by organizing shelves, putting away carts, returning merchandise from the dressing room back to the sales floor.
  • Asks customers to "Round-Up" totals in support of our mission and/or scholarship programs.
  • Meets or exceeds daily retail store goals.
  • Works other areas of the store as requested by the leadership team.

You will be hired as a Retail Associate - Cashier, however, you will be cross-trained and expected to learn and work all areas of the retail operation.
Full-time positions average 20 - 25 hours per week. Hours will fluctuate based on business needs (i.e., seasonal changes, donation volumes, etc.) Operating days will fluctuate based on the store location. The Retail Associate - Cashier must be available to work any shifts Monday through Sunday.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED); preferred.
  • Basic math skills.
  • Prior experience working in a retail or customer service-related environment, preferred.
  • Cash handling experience preferred.
  • Warehouse experience preferred.
