Job description

Charter One works with schools across the country to provide all-inclusive education management services. At Charter One we pride ourselves on our thorough knowledge of charter school operations, academics, finance, human resources, information technology, marketing, and more. We handle the day-to-day work so that client school boards can focus on governance and policy issues to be sure that the vision and mission of the school are being carried out properly.


American Leadership Academy is now accepting applications for a part-time Accompanist at our West Foothills High School located in Waddell, AZ. Candidates must possess, or be willing to obtain, a valid AZ IVP fingerprint clearance card.


Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Perform piano accompaniment for practice, rehearsals, and performances of school choirs.
  • Lead section rehearsals by playing parts, identifying student mistakes and problem areas, correcting mistakes and providing the right notes and rhythms.
  • Coach solos and ensembles by arranging or transposing music, teaching notes and rhythm, recognizing and resolving intonation problems, teaching good vocal
  • techniques, providing suggestions regarding interpretation of music and encouraging students.
  • Provide assistance to substitute teachers by leading rehearsals as necessary.
  • Locate and select concert musicians as necessary.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

• Good interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate effectively with students, teachers, and other performers.

• Ability to adapt quickly to different performance and rehearsal environments.

• Ability to sit for extended periods during rehearsals and performances.


Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree

• Valid AZ IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card


Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Music or related field

• Proficiency in piano or relevant instrument

• Strong understanding of music theory
