Job description

Job Title: Receptionist Administrative Support

Location: Golisano Autism Center – 50 Science Parkway, Rochester NY 14620

Salary: $16.00 - $16.50 commensurate with experience

Employment: This is a part-time position with a 20-hour workweek. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM and 12:00 PM – 4:00 PM

Summary/Objective: The Receptionist/Administrative Support assists the Golisano Autism Center as guided by the Director of the Golisano Autism Center. This individual works as a member of the administrative staff in the Golisano Autism Center with a commitment to providing mission-centered program and tenant support. This position will be responsible for providing light administrative support to the tenants of the Golisano Autism Center.

Required Education and Experience:

  1. High school diploma or equivalent.
  2. Previous successful experience in reception/clerical work preferred.
  3. Knowledge of office machines and phone systems.
  4. Ability to comply with professional standards of conduct, including pleasant speaking voice and courteous manner as well as the type of personality able to meet the demands of the position.
  5. Demonstrated ability in time management skills and organization skills.
  6. Demonstrated commitment to performing job duties and tasks appropriately.
  7. Familiarity with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (I/DD) is preferred.

Essential Functions:

  1. Imparts agency philosophy of “Equal Opportunity, Independence and Realization of Individual Potential” to children, families, program employees and community resources.
  2. Maintains confidentiality of information relating to individuals and their families in accordance with agency policy.
  3. Assists the GAC Director with or independently represents the GAC at resource fairs and GAC informational presentations.
  4. Welcomes individuals, employees, and visitors by greeting them, in person or on the telephone, answering or directing inquiries.
  5. Receives tenant work-related deliveries on their behalf and coordinates internal delivery.
  6. Ensures internal and external mail is coordinated and sent to the appropriate individuals.
  7. Communicates in a professional manner while handling incoming phone calls, greeting visitors, and responding to phone and personal requests for assistance.
  8. Assists in preparation of bulk mail correspondence.
  9. Maintains main lobby physical appearance and replenish displayed tenant and community provider flyers and marketing materials in collaboration with the Family Navigator.
  10. Appropriately screens visitors, maintains visitor log and adheres to the Building Safety and Security procedures.
  11. Maintains schedule of Agency meeting rooms.
  12. Participates in duties to replenish the mutual aid food pantry located onsite.
  13. Achieves departmental goals by performing additional responsibilities as assigned.
  14. Participates in conferences, workshops and in-service training as needed or recommended to enhance job skills and personal growth and development.
  15. Adheres to agency’s policies and procedures as well as department guidelines.
