This is a heartwarming opportunity for compassionate providers who love making a difference! We work with members throughout Wisconsin to find providers that fit each of their needs. Our goal is to help individuals be in more control of their own supports and to have a say in who is assisting them. This helps them to stay in their own homes as long as possible.
We are looking for an experienced Respite Provider in special needs childcare to assist a young girl in the family home on weekends.
The child has Angelman's Syndrome and needs significant supervision and behavioral management.
She does enjoy hanging out and having fun! So outgoing personalities are a plus!
This client enjoys watching movies on her Roku, going to concerts, reading books, eating out, water related activities, and so much more!
Compensation: $17.66 an hour
Shifts: Weekends - Respite care provided in the child's home, flexible scheduling.
Responsibilities:
• Engaging child and encouraging appropriate behaviors.
• 1:1 safety supervision-line of sight at all times
• Assist with regulation techniques during heightened behaviors
• Ability to set firm boundaries that are beneficial to the child to assist with managing behaviors
• Provide Safety and companionship
• Assist with daily living tasks: changing, bathing, transferring to and from wheelchair, meal prep, feeding, and basic household chores
• Provide emotional and behavioral support
Qualifications:
• Experience managing frequently erratic behaviors that can be aggressive.
• Prior experience with special needs required
• Experience with Autism spectrum, behavioral disorders, and Angelman's syndrome required
• Valid Driver's License and reliable transportation.
• Must be at least 18 years of age at the start of employment.
• Must be comfortable with pets in the home. -Family has multiple small dogs in the home.
• Pass background check before hire.
