Registered Nurse (RN) - Atrium Health Mercy - 7 North/South Med/Surg Ortho
This position is Sign-on Bonus eligible. In addition to the sign-on bonus, this position is eligible for a relocation bonus if current residency is outside of the designated distance to facility. New teammates at Atrium Health are eligible for robust benefits packages and paid time off.
Where You Will Work:
48-bed Orthopedic Surgery Medical Surgical Telemetry Unit: Most common procedures are: Total Joint - knee, hip, shoulder replacement, spine, shoulder procedures, general medical patients
Expectations We're Looking For:
  • 1 year of inpatient nursing experience preferred. At least 6 months required experience to come in outside of the New Grad residency program.
  • Completion of an accredited or approved program in nursing.
  • Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the teammate practices
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association

• As a skilled and compassionate RN, you will play a pivotal role in providing and coordinating comprehensive patient care through the nursing process to deliver safe, therapeutic care in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures.
• Using evidence-based practice, clinical decision making, compassion, and skills communication while leading efforts to create the safest patient environment and the best patient experience across the continuum.

Atrium Health Mercy is a 196-bed facility of Carolinas Medical Center (CMC). Located 1.3 miles from CMC, Mercy is one of two Carolinas Medical Center locations. Atrium Health Mercy is Magnet designated in Nursing Excellence and is also a Planetree designated patient-centered hospital.
For more than 100 years, Atrium Health Mercy has treated approximately 80 - 110 Emergency Department and 130 - 212 in-patients daily with a special combination of human compassion and leading-edge expertise.
Atrium Health Mercy is a full-service community hospital, specializing in the care of seniors and in complex foot and ankle surgery, hip and knee surgery, bariatric surgery, and women's pelvic health.

Physical Requirements
Work requires walking, standing, sitting, lifting, reaching, stooping, bending, pushing, and pulling. Must be able to lift and support the weight of 35 pounds in handling patients, medical equipment, and supplies. Must speak English in good, understandable terms. Intact sense of sight, hearing, smell, and touch. Finger dexterity. Critical thinking and ability to concentrate. Must be able to respond quickly to changes in patient and/or unit conditions. Physical Abilities Testing required.
Education, Experience and Certifications.
Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing. BSN preferred. Current Basic Life Support required per policy guidelines. Current RN license or temporary license as a Registered Nurse Petitioner in the state in which you work and reside or; if declaring a National License Compact (NLC) state as your primary state of residency, meet the licensure requirements in your home state; or for Non-National License Compact states, current RN license or temporary license as a Registered Nurse Petitioner required in the state where the RN works.
