Registered Dietitian - Einstein Medical Center - Part Time - 16hrs Weekly

Job Description

Primary Responsibilities
Provides appropriate medical nutrition therapy goals for patients throughout the organization. Educates patients regarding their diet/nutrition plan for discharge when needed. Serves as a nutrition resource to physicians, nursing staff, and other health care team members. Participates in patient care rounds. Essential Functions
Acts as the patient's primary advocate for all aspects of nutrition care. Assesses nutrition
needs for patients receiving enteral and parenteral feedings, and/or eating based on age and disease specific requirements.
Develops, implements, and monitors the effectiveness and outcomes of nutrition interventions for patients based on departmental policies and procedures.
Provides nutrition education to patients, families, and/or caregivers as needed. Educates and acts as a resource for students, residents, medical staff, nursing, and other healthcare team members regarding nutrition support practices.
Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistently utilizing Jefferson's core values.
Communicates clearly and effectively in both written and verbal form to patients, public, support staff, physicians and other allied health team members.
General knowledge of nutrients analysis, electronic medical record, and spreadsheet software

Qualifications
Degree/Diploma Obtained Program of Study Required/Preferred
Bachelors
Nutrition or Dietetics
Required
Masters Related Field Preferred
Additional Qualifications:
Completion of a supervised practice program approved by the Commission on Accreditation for Dietetics Education (CADE) of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics
One year acute care hospital/critical care experience preferred
Licensing Requirements
Registered Dietitian or eligible for registration by the Commission on Dietetic Registration of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
If registration eligible, must past the dietetic registration exam within 6 months of hire. Licensure state of
Pennsylvania within 6 months of hire. Position may be terminated if registration and/or Licensure is not achieved within the required timeframe.
