SUMMARY/SCOPE:
This position is part-time/nobenefits. We are lookingfor a part-time pianist to accompany our students in in rehearsals andperformances during the Fall and Spring semesters.
HSU JOB FAMILY CLASSIFICATION INCLUDES THE FOLLOWING:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Accompany School of Music students in rehearsalsand performances.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
There are no supervisory responsibilities.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES (Language, Mathematical, Reasoning and Computer Skills):
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read andinterpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenanceinstructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports andcorrespondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers oremployees of organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability toadd and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money andweight measurement, volume, and distance.
REASONING ABILITY: Ability to applycommon sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written,oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concretevariables in standardized situations.
COMPUTER SKILLS: To perform this jobsuccessfully, an individual should have knowledge of Word Processing software;Spreadsheet software; Internet software; Payroll systems and Order processingsystems.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
Expertise and experience providing pianoaccompaniment is required.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
Thisposition is a Part-Time/No Benefits, Non-Exempt/Hourly Staff position whichrequires no more than 10 hours per week providing piano accompaniment on campusat Hardin-Simmons University in Abilene, Texas.
Non-Exempt/Hourlyemployees who work beyond 40 hours during a single work week will becompensated at time and a half, per FLSA guidelines.
Mustbe able to drive to complete work assignments on, as needed.
Musthave and maintain a valid Class C Driver's License and maintain a clear drivingrecord to be insurable under the university liability policy.
