Starting Pay: $14.00 per hour depending on experience
Shift: Part-time (2 - 3 days per week; approximately 20 hours per week)

As the face of our organization, our Front Desk/Member Services team plays a vital role in shaping the YMCA experience for our members and guests. From the moment someone walks through our doors, they are greeted with warmth, kindness, and a smile. You will also be responsible for janitorial duties.
At the Y, we are more than just a fitness center; we are a community hub dedicated to promoting healthy living, youth development, and social responsibility. Nestled in the beautiful landscape of the Black Hills, our facility offers a wide range of programs and services for individuals and families of all ages and backgrounds. From fitness classes and sports leagues to youth programs and community events, there is something for everyone at the YMCA.
As a Front Desk/Member Services Associate, you will respond to the individual needs of each person you encounter, ensuring that they feel valued and supported. Your role will involve providing excellent service to members, guests, and program participants both in person and over the phone, contributing to member retention and satisfaction. You will conduct interviews and cause-driven tours tailored to the needs of prospective members, selling memberships and providing accurate program information. Additionally, you will develop and maintain positive relationships with volunteers and members, helping them connect with one another and the Y community.
You will serve others by intentionally welcoming, connecting, and supporting members, inviting them to get involved and give back to the community. Handling and resolving membership concerns will be part of your responsibilities, and you will inform supervisors of any unusual situations or unresolved issues. Applying all YMCA policies dealing with member services and member/staff safety will be essential in maintaining a secure and welcoming environment.
In addition to these responsibilities, you will handle administrative processes, opening and closing procedures as required, and may assist with distributing towels and maintaining locker rooms as needed.
We are seeking candidates who are passionate about serving others and are dedicated to promoting the YMCA mission and values. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, a strong customer service orientation, the ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment, and attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record keeping.
