Job description

Owlet is redefining modern parenting with products that bring genuine peace of mind to millions of families worldwide. We obsess over meaningful innovation, because when parents sleep better, everyone does. Join a team that builds things that actually matter.
We are looking for a results-driven Performance Marketing Strategist to lead and manage Owlet's paid media efforts on a part-time contractor basis. This role is responsible for planning, executing, and optimizing paid campaigns across key digital channels: driving customer acquisition, brand awareness, and revenue growth. You will also serve as the primary liaison to our paid media/growth agency, ensuring strategy alignment, accountability, and performance against defined KPIs.
You will report to the Sr. Director, Digital Marketing and collaborate closely with brand,, sales, and product teams to ensure paid efforts are integrated, insight-driven, and optimized for impact.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Own and manage paid media strategy and execution across channels including paid social (Meta, TikTok, Pinterest), paid search (Google, Bing), display, and emerging platforms.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for our paid media/growth agency, managing day-to-day communication, campaign briefs, performance reviews, and strategic alignment.
  • Hold the agency accountable to KPIs including ROAS, CPA, CAC, and revenue targets; identify gaps and ensure continuous optimization.
  • Develop and manage media plans, budgets, and forecasts; allocate spend effectively across channels to maximize return.
  • Build and maintain full-funnel paid strategies that support customer acquisition, product launches, seasonal campaigns, promotions, and more.
  • Lead creative briefing and testing across paid channels; partner with brand and creative teams to develop high-performing ad assets.
  • Design and execute A/B testing programs across creative, audiences, bidding strategies, and landing pages to drive continuous improvement.
  • Analyze campaign performance across platforms and surface actionable insights and recommendations to internal stakeholders.
  • Monitor competitive landscape and stay current on platform changes, algorithm updates, and emerging trends in paid media.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with brand, sales, and product teams to ensure paid campaigns are coordinated and on-brand.

Requirements
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience managing paid media campaigns across paid social and paid search; direct-to-consumer experience strongly preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience working directly with a paid media or growth agency, managing relationships, performance expectations, and strategic direction.
  • Proven track record of driving measurable results: customer acquisition, ROAS improvement, CAC reduction, and revenue growth through paid channels.
  • Deep platform proficiency in Meta Ads Manager, Google Ads, and TikTok Ads, including TikTok Shop; experience with additional platforms (Pinterest, YouTube, programmatic) is a plus.
  • Strong analytical mindset: comfortable working with platform data, pulling reports, identifying trends, and translating insights into strategic action.
  • Experience managing paid media budgets and building media plans that balance efficiency with scale.
  • Solid understanding of creative strategy for paid media; you know what makes an ad perform and can brief agency or creative partners effectively.
  • Experience managing or supporting affiliate marketing programs, including affiliate network platforms, partner recruitment, and performance tracking.
  • Excellent project management and communication skills; ability to work cross-functionally and manage multiple programs simultaneously in a part-time capacity.
  • Customer obsession: you think in acquisition outcomes and relentlessly advocate for efficient, high-quality spend.

WE'D LOVE TO SEE:
  • Experience working with a direct-to-consumer brand in the parenting, baby, health, or connected device space.
  • Familiarity with subscription or recurring revenue business models and how paid media supports LTV-positive acquisition.
  • Experience with attribution platforms and tools such as Triple Whale, Northbeam, or similar.
  • A test-and-learn mindset with a track record of experimenting, iterating, and scaling what works.
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced environment with evolving priorities and a lean team.

Benefits
PERKS:
  • Fully remote opportunity
  • Flex time scheduling
