About the Opportunity
Part-time Instructor positions available as determined by department's curricular and institutional needs to teach courses or sections in the didactic curriculum in the Department of Medical Sciences including curriculum in Physician Assistant, Healthcare Leadership, and Extreme Medicine.
Responsibilities include:
  • Develop and administer lectures, recitations, and laboratory experiences.
  • Prepare course materials, examinations, and assessments.
  • Evaluate student performance and provide constructive feedback.
  • Collaborate with the Faculty and departmental leadership for the course as needed.
  • Hold office hours to assist students with their academic needs.
  • Coordinate the course and curriculum as arranged; Part-time instructors may work under the direction of the Lead Faculty for the course.
  • Part-time instructors will report to the Department Chair

Qualifications:
  • Master or doctoral degree in specialty field as appropriate for topic of instruction is required.
  • Strong interpersonal communication, organization, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
  • Proficiency with computer technology, database management, and electronic records.
  • Successful applicants will have professional experience and college teaching experience in large higher education institutions with global student populations.

To teach medical topics in the PA Program, Physician Assistant graduate of an accredited physician assistant program or a currently licensed physician preferred. Physician assistant applicants must be certified by the National Commission on Certification for Physician Assistants (NCCPA) and have an earned master's degree in a field related to physician assistant practice or the education of physician assistant students. Physician applicants must be certified by an American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS) specialty board or by an American Osteopathic Association (AOA) approved specialty board. Licensed or eligible for licensure within the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
