Job Title: Human Resource Administrator - Part-Time

Reports To: Plant Manager

GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

As an HR Administrator, your primary role is to ensure the smooth functioning of human resources and safety-related processes within the organization. This multifaceted position involves maintaining confidentiality, handling recruitment tasks, facilitating onboarding, managing employee records, and overseeing safety protocols. The HR & Safety Administrator acts as a point of contact for employees, guests, and contractors, addressing inquiries professionally and contributing to the overall efficiency of HR, safety, and administrative functions.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Daily:

  1. Confidentiality and Record Keeping:
  • Safeguard all information of a personal and proprietary nature, ensuring confidentiality and security.
  • Keep employee records organized and stored securely.
  1. Recruitment and Onboarding:
  • Assist with recruiting, including interviews, tests, and selection processes.
  • Conduct employee onboarding to foster a positive company culture.
  1. Employee Relations and Service:
  • Perform HR functions by addressing employee requests and questions.
  • Maintain employee attendance records, issuing warnings when necessary.
  1. Payroll and Documentation:
  • Perform payroll tasks, including entering new hires, benefits administration, and verifying time and attendance.
  • Assist with the preparation of employee separation notices and documentation, conducting exit interviews.
  1. Safety Compliance and Reporting:
  • File workers' compensation claims and ensure the completion of safety incident reports.
  • Maintain OSHA logs.
  1. Training and Coordination:
  • Assist supervisors in ensuring weekly training is completed.
  • Coordinate with HR Manager and Corporate Safety & Training Manager on safety-related issues.
  1. Administrative Support:
  • Answer phone calls and assist guests and contractors professionally.
  • Handle miscellaneous clerical functions, special projects, and assist with various research tasks.
  1. Supply Management and Logistics:
  • Ensure all paperwork related to accounting is sent to Lima.
  • Keep the office supply closet organized and stocked.
  1. Mail and Shipping Coordination:
  • Receive and distribute FedEx and USPS mail.
  • Contact FedEx Ground when shipments are necessary and create labels as needed.
  1. Office Maintenance:
  • Perform clean-up tasks in the office to maintain a tidy and organized workspace.
  1. Collaboration and Special Projects:
  • Assist the Plant Manager, HR Director, and Corporate Safety & Training Manager with various research projects and special assignments.
  • Undertake any other duties assigned to contribute to the smooth operation of HR, safety, and administrative functions.

SAFETY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Lock Out Tag Out
  • Follow all Food Safety regulations (HACCP, GMP’s, AIB, Etc.)
  • Wear hearing protection in all areas of the plant
  • Wear non-slipshoes
  • Follow all common employee safety practices

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

  • Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year College or technical school; or two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Ability to interact with staff at all levels in a fast-pacedenvironment

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

REASONING ABILITY:

  • Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
