Pool Title POOL- Polysomnography Instructor (Part time) Pool Number F7-25 Announcement Summary
Fayetteville Technical Community College (FTCC) is seeking a knowledgeable and dedicated Part-Time Faculty Member to teach in the Polysomnography Program. This position is ideal for an experienced polysomnographic technologist who is passionate about educating future sleep technologists. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality instruction, fostering student success, and contributing to the overall mission of the program.
This is a continuous recruitment pool not specifically advertised. 
The pool is continuous in order to develop a qualified pool of interested candidates.

Duties
Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging lecture and lab instruction following the program curriculum and accreditation standards. 
  • Provide clinical instruction and oversight, ensuring students gain hands-on experience in sleep study procedures. 
  • Utilize a variety of teaching methods, including case studies, simulations, and interactive learning tools. 
  • Evaluate student progress through exams, practical assessments, and competency checklists.

Course Development & Compliance
 
  • Develop and update lesson plans, syllabi, and instructional materials to reflect current best practices.
  • Ensure course content aligns with CAAHEP accreditation standards and BRPT exam content.
  •  Maintain accurate student records, including attendance, grades, and skill assessments

Clinical & Professional Development
 
  • Serve as a mentor for students, offering guidance on clinical competencies and career pathways.
  •  Collaborate with clinical affiliates to ensure students meet required clinical rotation objectives.
  •  Stay current with industry trends, regulatory changes, and emerging sleep technology advancements.
  •  Participate in faculty meetings, program assessment activities, and professional development workshops.


Minimum Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
  • Associate degree or higher from an accredited institution.
  • Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) credential in good standing.
  • NCMB Licensure in good standing
  • Minimum of five (5) years of clinical experience in polysomnography.
  • Strong understanding of sleep study procedures, instrumentation, and accreditation standards.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in a related healthcare or education field.
  • Previous teaching experience in polysomnography or another allied health field, preferably at the community college level.
  • Experience in developing course materials, lab instruction, and online learning platforms (e.g., Blackboard, Moodle).
  • Familiarity with accreditation requirements (CAAHEP/CoA PSG) and sleep lab compliance standards.
  • Active involvement in professional organizations such as AAST, BRPT, or AASM.
  • Experience working with diverse student populations in an academic or clinical setting.
