A well-established privately owned construction company in Livingston County is looking for a Part-Time Accounts Payable Clerk to join their team! This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a collaborative office environment, has strong organizational skills, and takes pride in accuracy

The Part-Time Accounts Payable Clerk Position

The Part-Time Accounts Payable Clerk position is responsible for managing the day-to-day accounts payable functions of the organization, including processing vendor invoices, maintaining accurate records, preparing payments, and supporting the accounting department with various financial and administrative tasks. This role requires strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will be expected to provide and accept feedback, adapt to changing priorities, and contribute to the overall success of the accounting team.


Additional responsibilities include matching purchase orders, invoices, and receiving documentation, preparing weekly check and electronic payments, reconciling vendor statements, researching and resolving discrepancies, maintaining organized accounts payable files, communicating professionally with vendors and internal departments, and assisting with month-end closing activities and special accounting projects as needed.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills & Abilities of the Part-Time Accounts Payable Clerk

·      Previous office experience required; accounts payable, bookkeeping, or accounting experience preferred.

·      Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel; experience with accounting software is a plus.

·      Strong attention to detail, accuracy, organization, and time management skills.

·      Excellent communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills with a professional demeanor when working with vendors and internal stakeholders.

·      Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and contribute effectively in a collaborative team environment.

Compensation, Benefits, and Structure for the Part-Time Accounts Payable Clerk Position

This position is part-time, approximately 30 hours per week, Monday through Friday with flexible daytime hours. The Company offers a stable work environment, flexible scheduling, and the opportunity to contribute to a respected organization within the construction industry. This position requires an in-office presence at the Company's Livingston County office and reports directly to the accounting department leadership.
