Essential Job Duties
As an Athletics Accounting Technician, you will ensure financial accuracy and compliance within our Athletics department. Your role involves auditing and reconciling travel vouchers and invoices, advising on purchase orders, training staff on financial policies, and ensuring compliance with NCAA and Atlantic Coast Conference regulations. You will participate in system upgrades, assist in the annual budgeting process, and analyze monthly budgets. This position requires strong financial acumen, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with Athletics staff
and compliance teams.
Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Audit and reconcile travel vouchers and invoices following State and University financial rules and regulations.
  • Verify charges, account codes, and approvals while considering credits and tax rules.
  • Advise on and monitor purchase orders and requisitions for bids.
  • Train and communicate with Coaches, Sports Administrators, and Sports
  • Directors on financial policies and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with NCAA regulations and Atlantic Coast Conference policies.
  • Participate in system upgrades and campus focus groups to suggest policy improvements.
  • Assist in the annual budgeting process by providing data and feedback.
  • Collaborate with Athletics Compliance staff to ensure adherence to University and departmental policies.
  • Analyze monthly budgets for sports and Athletic administrative areas, providing insights and suggestions.
  • Discuss budget needs with Coaches and Sports Administrators, contributing to year-end financial projections.
