Reporting to: Project Engineer, Project Managers, Project Coordinators on day-to-day basis
We are looking for recent high school graduates wanting to work while taking some college courses or taking a GAP year or others looking to learn and grow in an exciting and growing field working within our Virtual Deign & Construction (VDC) team. This role will provide the opportunity to work on some of the most innovative and exclusive projects that IKERD are involved with globally. Position would need to work 20 to 40 hours per week in our Decatur, TX office. With room for growth if you choose to stay on the team with possible opportunities at certifications and scholarships.
Responsibilities:
  • Assisting engineers in research on commercial building projects.
  • Review project files for compliance with Standards/protocols
  • Learn laser scanning for 3D model creation of buildings
  • Traveling and assisting engineers with field notes, laser scanning, and equipment.
Qualities and Skills:
  • Desire to obtain the Certificate of Development in BIM, Part 1 certification (CD-BIM.com) is a plus.
  • Experience working in the commercial building industry is a plus.
  • Excellent communications skills both written and verbal
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Able to manage sensitive and sometimes confidential information
  • Self-motivated, hardworking, and able to take responsibility in a proactive approach to daily tasks
  • Flexible attitude
