Job description

PAUT Level II Technician Part Time- Houston, TX

Intertek, a leading provider of quality and safety solutions to many of the world's top-recognized brands and companies, is actively seeking a Part-Time PAUT Level II Technician to join our Asset Integrity Management team at our Houston, TX location.  Must be able to certify as a PAUT Technician with prior Level II certification and experience. 

What are we looking for?

 The PAUT Level II Technician is responsible for the inspection of assigned materials, objects, or systems using Phased Array Ultrasonic Testing. Additional NDT certifications and experience are a plus. This is a Part-time, casual, project-based position. Must be willing to travel.

What you'll do:

  •  Using advanced ultrasonic equipment with phased arrays to test for flaws in materials and welds. Working knowledge of semi-automated and automated encoding required.  
  • Set up and calibrate equipment; interpret and evaluate results with respect to applicable codes, standards, and specifications.
  • Should be thoroughly familiar with the scope and limitations of the methods for which qualified and shall exercise assigned responsibility for on-the-job training and guidance of assigned trainees and NDE Level I personnel.
  • Should be able to organize and report the results of any assigned NDT.

Minimum Requirements & Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5-7 years' experience in Advanced UT methods, including, but not limited to Phased Array.
  • Prior Level II certification
  • API QUPA and API QUTE certifications or ISO Thickness, ISQ Shear Wave and ISQ Phased Array certifications required for consideration
  • Valid Drivers' License and reliable driving record (required)
  • Current TWIC card
  • Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills and be fluent in English.
  • Computer skills, especially familiarity with MS Office applications. are necessary.        
  • Additional experience and prior certification in other NDE methods (MT, PT, UTT, VT) preferred
