What is a part time 2D artist?

Part time 2D artists are creative professionals who work on a flexible or reduced schedule to create two-dimensional visual content, such as illustrations, character designs, backgrounds, and concept art. They may be employed by game studios, animation companies, advertising agencies, or work as freelancers. Their responsibilities can include sketching, digital painting, editing graphics, and collaborating with other team members to bring visual ideas to life. Part time roles typically offer a set number of hours per week, allowing for work-life balance or pursuit of other projects.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a part time 2D artist?

Proficiency with digital illustration tools such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, or similar software is typically required. Creativity, time management, and effective communication help artists deliver quality work and collaborate with clients or teams. These skills ensure that 2D artists can produce visually compelling assets that meet project goals and deadlines, even on a part-time schedule.
