We are actively seeking passionate Special Education Teachers to join a highly supportive, interdisciplinary team at Elim Christian Services. These are high-impact roles working with students with diverse learning and behavioral needs in structured, well-supported classrooms.
Position Details
- Start Date: August 10, 2026
- Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:15 AM – 3:15 PM
- Hours: ~37.5 per week
- Contract: Full 2026–2027 school year
- Setting: Self-contained classrooms (middle school, high school, and transition programs)
Open Roles
Bridges Program – Transition
- ~7 students
- Focus on life skills & functional independence
- Moderate to severe behaviors; high-acuity classroom
- Real-world learning (on-site gift shop/store)
Pathways Program – Transition
- ~6 students
- Autism-focused classroom
Pathways High School
Classroom Support
- Strong staffing model:
- Dedicated SPED Teacher + Teaching Assistant per classroom
- Multiple paraprofessionals (3–4 on average)
- Many students supported with 1:1 aides
- Full interdisciplinary team:
- SLPs, BCBAs, Social Workers, RNs, PT/OT, RBTs
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and manage Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Deliver differentiated instruction in self-contained settings
- Support students with academic, behavioral, and life skills development
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and families
- Maintain compliance with IDEA and state regulations
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required (Special Education preferred)
- Active state teaching license (or eligibility)
- Experience with middle school, high school, or transition students
- Ability to support behavioral needs (mild–severe depending on classroom)
- New grads encouraged to apply
