The Pharmacy Manager will direct high quality pharmacy services and provide medical supplies to customers and patients in accordance with established policies, procedures and laws regulating pharmacy practice. Responsibilities include: Directs pharmacy and operations functions to ensure effective operations. Demonstrates understanding of USP 797 standards, USP 800 standards, and current State Board of Pharmacy (BOP) regulations. Provides and|or oversees compounding, dispensing, and clinical monitoring services prescribed by physicians or other mid-level practitioners and authorized medical personnel in a safe and efficient manner. Ensures that all pharmacy operations, practices and procedures meet all licensing and standards requirements established by local, state and federal agencies. Prepares prescriptions, solutions, and medications accurately and promptly. Conducts initial and ongoing assessment of specific patient, drug and disease information to identify real and potential drug-related problem or needs. Conducts and revises the patient's plan of care. Prepares formulations for solutions|medications, and ensures the accuracy of the preparation; may oversee work of Clinical Pharmacists, Pharmacy Technicians and Interns Participates in the preparation, distribution, security and maintenance of controlled substances. Interfaces with physicians and referral sources as required. Serves as a drug information resource to the sales force and participates in team selling and sales support. Participates in and maintains on-call schedule for pharmacists and covers as needed.
