Job description

Job Title: Construction Paralegal – LPL Solar  

Position Summary  
LPL Solar is an EPC contractor that builds large utility-scale solar construction projects nationwide. The Construction Paralegal will work with LPL Solar’s legal, executive, and operational teams to support construction and equipment supply contract preparation, negotiation, administration, compliance, and dispute avoidance and resolution.    

The ideal candidate brings at least 5 years’ experience as a construction paralegal (law firm or in-house) and can operate effectively in a fast-paced EPC environment, partnering closely with leadership and project teams.  This is an in-person home office position at our Fort Lauderdale, Florida headquarters. 

Key Responsibilities  

Contract Management & Commercial Support  

  • Draft, review, and assist with negotiations and administration of contracts, including EPC agreements, subcontract agreements, engineering agreements, purchase orders, vendor agreements, MSAs, and NDAs.  

  • Support and organize contract negotiations by coordinating and tracking contract and exhibit redlines, and maintaining version control  

  • Ensure proper execution, documentation, and organization of all agreements   

  • Prepare/submit various contract-related documents as needed, such as statutory notices  

  • Assist internal procurement teams in preparing and assembling subcontract / vendor agreements with all required exhibits and proper contract flow downs.  

  • Assist project teams in preparing and reviewing change orders, payment application packages, lien waivers, and other project documents as needed  

Project & Field Operations Support  

  • Track contractual obligations, notice provisions, and key deadlines across active projects  

  • Support lien management, notices, and claims processes   

Licensing, Compliance & Corporate Governance  

  • Assist internal teams with contractor licensing and corporate registrations across multiple states where LPL Solar operates  

Claims, Disputes & Litigation Support  

  • Assist Chief Legal Counsel in managing potential project-related claims and disputes  

  • Coordinate with outside counsel as needed, including document collection, case preparation, and communication  

  • Prepare chronologies, summaries, and supporting documentation for dispute avoidance/resolution  

Operational Systems & Process Improvement  

  • Maintain and improve contract review/management systems, templates, and internal processes  

  • Support standardization efforts across agreements   

  • Help drive efficiency, consistency, and scalability in legal and administrative processes  


Qualifications  

  • Minimum of 5 years of construction law paralegal experience   

  • Prefer large commercial construction and/or utility-scale renewable energy, solar, or infrastructure construction firm, or law firm supporting the same  

  • Paralegal certificate or bachelor’s degree in legal studies or related field preferred  

  • Strong working knowledge of EPC contracting structures, subcontractor agreements, and construction risk management   

  • Strong organizational skills  

  • Experience supporting multi-state operations   

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, PDF software, and electronic signatures (e.g. Docusign)
